Amazing Times With Merle Haggard

John Spicer And Merle Haggard

John recently had the pleasure of spending some time with iconic country music legend Merle Haggard.

John was invited to meet Merle at his studio, Hag Studios, where they recorded the last song for John’s forthcoming debut album. As if recording a song in the great Merle Haggard’s studio wasn’t enough of an amazing experience, John Spicer said his dream came true when he had the opportunity to play the first song he learned to play on guitar with the very man who wrote it and sang it professionally.

John mentioned, “He let me play the guitar that he wrote it on to boot. He told stories and gave advice and was the absolute sweetest soul I’ve ever had the pleasure to meet. [It] will go down in history for me as the greatest day of my life. I never dreamed that I would get a chance to play and sing with Merle Haggard.”

Make sure to stay tuned to his website and social media for videos of John and Merle’s jam session.

I’m Officially A Fender Artist!

Fender presents John Spicer

That’s right, I’ve been officially welcomed into the Fender family! Fender’s Vice President of Artist Relations Bill Cummiskey has invited me to join the Fender team and introduce a new line of acoustic guitars from their custom shop in Connecticut.

A HUGE thanks to everyone who’s made this possible – especially Mr. Cummiskey, the Legend Group Records crew, and the man himself, LGR President Houston Curtis! And of course, YOU! None of this would be possible without the people who listen to the music. THANK YOU!!

These are some exciting times! I’ll be making my first appearance on behalf of Fender at THE NAMM SHOW 2014 (where I’ll be playing my new Fender TPD-1), this Thursday January 23rd!

Check out the Legend Group Records blog for details!

John Spicer, Dave Weiderman, and Houston Curtis.

Hey everyone, John here. Just wanted to stop by and make “my” first actual post on here, and welcome everyone to the new site. I hope that you will continually check back in with us as we’ve got a lot of big things coming up that I can’t speak of just yet, but I promise they’re worth the wait!

But, while you’re waiting, make sure to go over to my artist page on Facebook, my newly formed Twitter, and I hope you’ll all come out to a few shows when I’m in your area! Love you all!
